You probably can ignore this email if you don't know what an SMTP is. If you are interested in how an SMTP can make mail delivery better, you can read this article.

The Newsletter plugin has an internal SMTP implementation for those who need to send emails using that kind of delivery service.

We provide a free addon to use an SMTP and we recommend using that instead of the internal SMTP feature (it is fully compatible, no need to reconfigure anything).

We're going to remove the internal SMTP on the next Newsletter plugin release with the aim to provide more efficient and maintainable software.

If your site is already using an SMTP plugin (Fluent SMTP, WP Mail SMTP, ...) nothing has to be done: keep using it since the Newsletter plugin is fully compatible with your SMTP plugin.

The installation of the STMP addon is really easy: go to our "Addons" page, from the Newlestter side menu, and activate it. You may need to install the add-ons manager as well.

Alternatively, you can get the package from your account page and add it as "new plugin" from your site plugins page.
