No, Stefano and team have not acted on this request. It would be easy to add a more... link, the text and the featured image of the page are both links to the specific blog post already, and that works perfectly - but many users don't realise they can click on it.
September 25, 2019 at 12:07 am in reply to: imported subscribers but feed by mail not enabled #238023nikdowParticipantTerribly ashamed to state that I didn't keep any record of the steps taken to fix the problem! I'll try to remember:
I switched from Feed by Mail to Automated add-on.
You set up at least one channel, and each subscriber needs to be linked to the channel.I was already sending emails to the subscribers who signed up since I set up Newsletter, but the ones I imported from Mailchimp were not getting the emails.
Then under subscribers -> maintenance -> lists (tab)
you see a <select> which includes the channel from Automated add-on. In my case that is the only option, but it needs to be selected if you have multiple lists.
then click on "Activate for everyone". The Lists tab has lots of options for bulk operations on your subscribers, so it's very powerful (and dangerous).Stefan was helpful, not sure why his replies are not on this thread, but I recall a few of his inputs, including that each subscriber shows a list of the newsletters they received, (Newsletters tab), and the list they should be on (Lists tab).
nikdowParticipantHi Stefano, thanks for great plugin. In combination with AWS SES we can send out our newsletters at much lower cost than MailChimp.
Plus I hope you are enjoying your August holiday! Please consider this request: Give us a way to include "more..." link at the end of the sample text in the email. We are using Automated, runs every morning and if a blog article was published, it gets sent out. But we get much feed-back asking how to find the whole article, because there is no "more..." link. Also if you click on "Click here if this email doesn't show properly" that opens the newsletter itself, which is logical, but no "more..." link on the web version either.
I'm just responding to feedback from the customers, they can't find the blog post to read!
nikdowParticipantIf this were my customer, I'd terminate them.
nikdowParticipantOK I did a Google search and found a post that answered my question.
Amazing how on so many websites (not just this one), it is easier to find a page by googling it rather than via the site's own navigation.
