WP shortcodes in Newsletter?

Ciao Stefano!
After years working with your “old” Newsletter Pro Plugin, I now want to give your new plugin a try.
So I installed it and now I am trying to import data via a WP shortcode right into a text field. Precisely it is a weekly menu, that needs to be sent out to subscribers.
My first attempt didn’t succeed. When putting in the shortcode, I get the exact line delivered but not the data.

Is it generally possible to insert WP shortcodes like “[weekly_menu]” into newsletter?
