    Hi!

I created two custom fields, but as I could not get the Polylang integration to work (display localized labels for the fields), I wanted to remove them again, but I still get error messages in the place where they were (even though I believe it’s only visible to the admin).
I deleted all field contents, made the fields optional and private, but still…

Please find a screenshot at https://pix.nessware.de/nl_custom-fields.png

    Any hint/help appreciated.

    Hello Nessi,

first of all yes, it’s visible only to site admins. Could you try to delete any entry in the Custom Fields panel and then hit save and see if they’re gone?

There aren’t asny. I already deleted them (by emptying out all fields).
    Please see screenshots below.

Also when I switch to the language specific editor, there are no fields:

    Hello Udo,

if you try to add newsletter form shortcode on a test page, do you see the same error message about the missing custom fields?

    Hi Michael,

I created a test page with the newsletter block:
    https://pix.nessware.de/nl_cf_6.png

And I still can see the faulty custom fields

Seems like somewhere in a database or config file, some data of the cleared fields is still there. Could it be that clearing all fields resaults in values of an empty string, and non existing custom fields have a null value?

    Cheers,
    Udo

Hi, go to Subscription/Form where there are the settings of the default form and save them (possibly for each language): probably there is a stale configuration save on the database.

    Hi Stefano,

Whatever remains there were… I went through every input field for “All languages” and each language and saved the hell out of the configuration 😉
    And finally, it actually worked.

No clue where I failed to save the empty config…

    Cheers,
    Udo

Hi, it’s a bug, the patch will be published shortly. Thank you for reporting. The problem is when a custom field is “reset”: that information is not correctly propagated to the form configuration which keep in processing it (but only when the admin is looking at the form).
