ParticipantHello,
After the latest update plugin, in the text editing window, the background color is forced to black (white to black, 180% angle), each time have to select white or another color that was there before.

Keymaster(Uhm, could be a bug, can you reset the second color? When the color picker is open on the top right you can “empty” the selected color.

ParticipantIt seems that we got this annoying bug also (= a white>black gradient in the background of text box, I can send a screenshot if needed).
It typically appears when duplicating an old newsletter to create a new one, and seems to affect rather mobile devices (the newsletter seems to appear correctly on laptop/computers). The problem is not visible in the editor during the creation and sending of the newsletter, but happens on the target device.January 21, 2025 at 10:10 am #338783Michael
KeymasterHello,
yeah, a screenshot can be helpful. Also, which Newsletter version are you currently using?

ParticipantI’ve made a small video to explain the issue (happends typically when duplicating an old newsletter).
Newsletter plugin version is 8.6.7 (last version).

KeymasterHello Pierre, thanks for you video.
Just a question: if you manually remove the wrong gradient, does it get removed from the editor and the sent newsletter?

KeymasterAlso,
this may happen cause you’re duplicating old templates with some errors on them. Try the following: create a new “template” from scratch (replicating your desired design) and then try to duplicate that, and see if the gradient issues persist.

ParticipantHi Michael,
1. Removing the wrong gradient before modifying is fine. The problem I see is that after duplicating an old newsletter, nothing on the display seems to be wrong, until you modify a faulty component or send the newsletter. So for “standard” users, this is problematic. My colleague sent an hideous newsletter to 6’000 subscribers, because the display in the console was right, but the final sent newsletter was wrong.
2. I can confirm that creating a new template from scratch doesn’t bring any problem, even when duplicating a “new” template. The problem concerns indeed old templates. The problem is that my colleagues uses regularly old templates, because the subject and texts are exactly already fine for the new message they want to send. So if the problem can be solved in a new version, it would be ideal. Else we will ask our users to start from scratch for new newsletters.
Thanks for your support !

KeymasterHello Pierre,
unfortunately there’s no easy way to solve this with an update. Older templates may be flawed for a number of reasons and the quickiest way to get rid of this is to create a new “template” once and for all and keep using that to build your newsletters.
