FAILED (No error message reported)

We try to use an email adress like “newsletter@ourdomain.com” as the sender email adress but we get this error message when we test it:
​”FAILED (No error message reported)”

When we use “newsletter@ourdomain.com” as the sender email adress and “my.name@ourdomain.com” as the Return path we get this error message:
“FAILED (mail(): Policy restriction in effect. The fifth parameter is disabled on this system) – Try to remove the return path on main settings.”

There is no problem using “my.name@ourdomain.com” as the sender email adress and Return path.
“newsletter@ourdomain.com” is a real mail adress and have the same settings as “my.name@ourdomain.com”.

Why cant we use “newsletter@ourdomain.com”?
