Error message setting on subscription form fields

I have a question about the error message settings on the subscription form’s fields (e.g. First name, last name, email etc).

On the newsletter setting, I’ve set the error message I want to use if people don’t fill out the field here:

However, on the actual form deployed on website, the specified error isn’t displaying, instead I believe it’s only displaying the default error message by browser:

Is there a way to display the actual error I’ve set on the setting? Is there any setting I’ve missed? I need this to work because we’re using the plugin on a multilingual site.

Hi, that is correct the browser has the built in validation and shows messages in the user language directly.
