    Hello,
    Whenever I try to Save and send test email on the SMTP addon page, I get a message about a critical error on the website.

    I’ve been trying to troubleshoot with our web hosts and after some testing they advised me this error is being thrown when we attempt to test the Newsletter SMTP settings:
    (I have removed personally identifiable parts of the below urls)

    [10-Apr-2025 23:45:20 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to a member function get_error_message() on null in /wp-content/plugins/newsletter-smtp/admin/index.php:34
    Stack trace:
    #0 /wp-content/plugins/newsletter/includes/addon.php(383): require()
    #1 /wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(324): NewsletterMailerAddon->{closure}(”)
    #2 /wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(348): WP_Hook->apply_filters(”, Array)
    #3 /wp-includes/plugin.php(517): WP_Hook->do_action(Array)
    #4 /wp-admin/admin.php(259): do_action(‘newsletter_page…’)
    #5 {main}
    thrown in /wp-content/plugins/newsletter-smtp/admin/index.php on line 34

    My next step is to contact you folks to see what could be happening; this appears to be an issue in the plugin?

    Cheers,
    Mel

    Hi, it’s an error when reporting an error, please update the addon to version 1.1.7 (save the main newsletter plugin settings to see the update).
    Thank you for reporting.
