Prevent sending mail to recipients more than once

Is there a way to prevent receiving the sent newsletter more than once when the recipient is in multiple lists?

In my use case I have multiple lists and users can join more than one. When I send a newsletter to all lists these users get the email more than once.

Did I miss a setting somewhere?
