Hi, I am a newbee, so excuse me if I am asking something “stupid”. I installed the plugin, uploaded my addresses and sent out a mailing on the 25th. But from there on I am only having doubts if I did something wrong…
First, it took Newsletter around 14 hours to send the email to all 971 addresses, at least to have it at 100% in its status bar. I read that the maximum of sending is 100 per hour, so, that explains something.
But, now we live at the 27th, at least here in Europe, and I can see that only 26 people have opened the email. Which is a really, really low amount of people. Also, when I first looked at it, it was 23 and it got up to 24 in about half a day and it took two days to get to 26. So I checked with some friends who are also on the list and they say they did not receive anything (not in their spam boxes either).
So, what is happening here? Did I miss some setting or something else I need to know/adjust/plug/add…
Please help, thanks a lot!

November 1, 2024 at 5:06 pm #334934MichaelKeymasterHello,
first of all I’d like to point out that we don’t throttle sending speed in any way, in both free and premium version (which by the way are exactly the same, you only pay for access to premium support and premium addons).
Sending speed may depend on a number of factors, the most important being your own hosting provider or sending service. You must ask them directly which speed you should set, as every provider has its own limits. Generally speaking, sending with smtps included with your hosting plan will always result in poor performances, in order to get reliability (e.g. deliverability) you should sign up for a free or paid plan at one of the ESP (email sending providers) we are integrated with (or also via Smtp). This is explained in the same page that @web linked.
Thanks,

Thank you Michael and Stefano for this excellent plugin!
I too am using the free version, with SMTP2go’s service.
Ben, like Michael said, my Host also recommended getting away from cPanel/webhost php sending altogether, and use an outside SMTP service.
I did try the free Newsletter SMTP2Go addon, but since I already had the SMTP2Go PLUGIN, I use that for all my wordpress mail handling.
So I deleted the SMTP2Go addon to prevent conflicts, and Newsletter sending now works briskly through the SMTP2Go PLUGIN and their network.
(Btw: I’m using their SMTP2Go free version and they have 24/7 free support. 1000 emails a month free limit, then you pay.)

I just tried to start a new thread, but the Title of it vanishes as I type my mssg. so I’ll ask here if I may.If I delete the Newsletter Addon Manager, will my Newsletter Archive Addon continue to function?
I ask because I want to reduce the number of plugins I have.
