Occasionally I have some mysteries to solve with addresses that get a ‘bounced’ status. When I list subscribers with the ‘Bounced’ filter there is a ‘Date’ column, but that seems to be the date they subscribed. Is there a way to determine when the bouncing started?
I looked in our dedicated bounces@example.com POP3 mailbox, but it is always empty, even the trash folder. It looks like the add-on hard deletes messages after processing.
In the addon there is a setting ‘Try to detect spam’ but I cannot find details in the documentation about that. Since the documentation Search box started using Artificial “Intelligence” I cannot find anything. It doesn’t even know most of the strings in the UI. Please re-enable the old keyword search, at least as an option.

Hi, if you look at the user logs the bounce time should be registered. The spam detection is an attempt to interpret the bounce reason to detect if it’s a spam report.

PS: the old search method is integrated with the new search: results should be displayed after the first inline answer.

Where can I find the ‘user logs’? I don’t see that described on any page under ‘Managing your subscribers’. AI search

https://www.thenewsletterplugin.com/documentation/?source=sidebar&query=user%20logs tells me to enable logging first and then go to Help/Logs. But currently that only shows upgrade logs. Will the user log appear there after sending a new newsletter?

    Hi,
on each user details page there are the logs of the status changes: of course is it useful if you know the email address marked as bounced.
if you need detailed logs of the bounce addon, you need to enable the logging at debug level on the Newsletter’s general settings.

‘each user details page’? Again, AI wasn’t helpful in finding the ‘user details page’. It tells me about importing WP users… But I finally found it: I had to click ‘Edit’ on the bounced subscriber to see that Logs tab. That is the part I missed. And indeed it shows a ‘status: B’ with specified date and time. So thanks, problem solved.
